Well it's only 4:39pm on a Monday afternoon and I'm already stressed.
I have quite the puzzle in front of me to solve.
Take a Rubik's Cube, imagine each of its six faces is representative of the perfect configuration of those 9 little squares for Finances/Bills, Freelance work, Photoshoots/Retouching, Personal Development (no cocoon required), Dayjob, Communication, Planning, Family, Sleep. This would allow for all these things to work properly together without any sacrificing any one individual thing.
Now scramble that up. A lot.

It's alright, I'll figure it out - always do. I'm not in dire straights or anything, it just gets tiring juggling everything all the time. But hey, jugglin' is what clowns do right?!

Of course, one should clear the mind before attempting any puzzle of such difficulty. Therefore I'm going to begin drinking immediately after work and then when sufficiently soused, I'm going to dip into about 2 hours of "The Hills" (of the 18 episodes currently on my Tivo.) Afterward my mind should be more blank than the bastard offspring of our Attorney General and that chick that huffs gold spraypaint behind my local Russian Mafia owned liquor store. Then... then I shall solve these issues.

And they say my generation doesn't have coping skills. Pft.

Been away from LiveJournal for a while - I just started reading my friend entries to catch up with all of you. So if there's been dramatic life changes and I haven't said anything, thats why. Don't worry you're all still my favorite storybook to read, I've just had to take a little time off and prepare for other things. Good headspace for work, ya dig?
Speaking of which, here are some photos from the shoot with the ass-kickin' Meaghan Monster and Noir Halo. This was a LOT of fun, definitely two people I really like working with and we'll be shooting again in the future. Possibly at you.
Just kidding.
Anyway, Meaghan approached me with Noir Halo's concept a couple of weeks ago, created the FX and found the location, so all I really had to do was go out and be camera monkey, which was much less stressful than usual and I really enjoyed it. So Hats Rats off to ya!
Here are some of the images, and this is before my before my usual photoshop shenanigans. I'm going to do the standard retouching on the rest and release them to ya'll so you can see what they look like before I fuck'em all up in Photoshop.

Shadow Circus uses life-sized latex puppets to create a seething underworld of drugged-up dinosaurs, giant cockroaches and bizarre mythological beasts. For the past seven years, they've inspired both acclaim and terror from the San Francisco arts community. But this summer, the Bay Area's most belligerent puppetry troupe is unleashing its surreal vision to its neighbors to the South... That's right, kids, Shadow Circus is finally coming to Los Angeles...

...and they've brought friends.

Joining the band of puppeteering hooligans will be Uni & Her Ukelele, Poopy Lickles, and LA-Area performer Kimberlee Rose to bring you an evening of hypnotic music, madcap comedy and tantalizing burlesque. What more could you possibly ask for?

The event will be held on Saturday, July 14th at the Il Corral 662 N. Heliotrope Drive in Los Angeles. Doors open at 9:00 pm and admittance is $7. While this is an all-ages event, the performance will contain explicit content which may not be appropriate for younger audience members.

Hah, I've been invited to the Erotica LA Expo in Los Angeles this weekend to snap some photos and write a little about what I find there. Can't really give any details yet because I don't quite know them myself. What I do know is that I'll be there tomorrow, Saturday 23rd - I'm not certain what hours, or what specifically I'll be doing, I guess thats up to the client, they're footin' the bill.

If nothing else, I'll hound Joanna Angel for an autographed copy of the zombie porn "Re-Penetrator". (I'm not making this up)

So anyway, if any of you perverts are going and see my green haired self wandering around, say hello. Really.

While neat looking, it wasn't what I was trying to accomplish, and it wasn't functional.
I shelved it because I was frustrated and I nearly fucking electrocuted myself.

This weekend however, I built this:



Yeah that's right, it's functional. Not as a correspondence machine, (give me some time on that) but it will run a video feed, and that's good enough for my current purposes. And I couldn't have done it without the deconstructive capabilities of my roomate and resident tinkerer Dave, from myredherring.com (he'll be posting up some of his projects there soon).

This little machine has a place in several stories in my head and the absurd mythologies I've made up for the world around me. I'll write'em out someday.

Luckily it looks like this will be all finished for the Dark Art show at Club Hell on Wednesday. Speaking of which, check out the bitchin' flyer they sent me to help promote. (Its at the bottom)



And just for fun... I even got my favorite video game on there. I had to test the video feed right? ;)
